You do not need Internet connectivity to mirror your phone to the TV with EZCast. But we recommend connecting to a local Wi-Fi when streaming media to minimise cellular data costs.

Does EZCast dongle support subtitles?
EZCast dongle supports SRT, SMI, SSA, CDG subtitles. When playing a video, EZCast would scan for subtitle from file systems and provide a selection of subtitles for you to choose from.

Firmware upgrade stuck at 2%
Insufficient power may be the cause to this issue. Please use an external 5V/1A power adapter instead of TV USB port to provide more stable power supply. Note: Do not disconnect the power during upgrade.

EZCast LED status
EZCast has an LED light on the bottom of the device that visually indicates the status of the dongle as one of the following: 1) Solid (blue): EZCast is powered on and is ready for connection. 2) LED off: EZCast is not powered. Please check the USB power cable connection.

How to connect to local Wi-Fi network for Internet access?
Once your smart device connects to the EZCast dongle. Click Setting > Internet in the EZCast app to connnect to local Wi-Fi network.

EZCast Installation guide
Please follow the steps below to setup EZCast: Step 1: Connect EZCast to TV Plug EZCast into any HDMI input port on the TV, Monitor, or Projector. Step 2: Connect USB Wi-Fi Antenna to EZCast Plug the micro USB connector of the Antenna cable into the micro USB port of EZCast, and connect the USB Type-A connector of the Antenna into an external 5V1A power adapter, or to the USB Type-A port of the TV. Please reboot your dongle, the password will flash on the TV for a few seconds before turning into ********. Please note down the password on paper or take a photo of the password so that you can use the password to access EZCast.

Frequent disconnection from Wi-Fi
There may be interference with the Wi-Fi signal due to a crowded channel. Please get your dongle as close to your router as possible to improve Wi-Fi connectivity. Furthermore, please reboot your home router to rescan a cleaner channel. Note: Do not connect too many devices to your home router when streaming or mirroring for optimum viewing experience.

Please click Setting > Upgrade to upgrade the firmware to the latest vesion to support all the latest smart devices.

Why is the output of Miracast not displayed in full screen on TV?
Your TV's aspect ratio is usually 16:9, while your smart phone's is not, so screens mirrored onto TV will not fill the whole screen.

How to cast from Netflix to your TV
Due to Netflix’s DRM, EZCast can’t cast Netflix contents directly at this moment. We are communicating with Netflix to fix this issue. Differences between EZCast, EZMirror+Timer and EZMirror+AP modes
EZMirror+Timer means that EZCast devices boot to Miracast receiver mode and countdown for 120 secs, then go back to EZCast mode if no device connects to it via Miracast. EZMirror+AP means that EZCast will boot to Miracast receiver mode, and connect to router. The connection method is shown on display.

Why does setting the EZCast dongle to EZMirror mode disconnects it from Wi-Fi?
EZMirror (Miracast) is based on p2p connection, which is different to AP mode that connects to Wi-Fi network. Therefore, the dongle disconnects from the Wi-Fi to change to p2p connection with your smart phone.

Plug&Play and AirPlay&Setup for iOS
Insert a paper clip to push the button inside the hole on EZCast Wire dongle to switch between two modes. 1. When the dongle is in "Plug&Play" mode, connet your iOS device to the dongle via a lightning cable. Click "Trust" when a message pops up, then the mirroring will begin after a few seconds. 2. When the dongle is in "AirPlay&Setup" mode, turn on the Personal Hotspot of your iOS devices, then launch EZCast app to discover the dongle. Use Airplay mirroring to mirror to dongle.

It's not available to open mutiple web pages at the same time for Windows/Mac at the moment.

Why can't I mirror the sound to the TV?

When streaming external music files, why EZCast can only play one file at a time?
Please add external music files to a playlist so music files can be played one after the other automatically.

How to delete/edit favorite bookmarks?
Please log into your EZCast account on the app, then click on "Web". Tap and hold the bookmark that you want to delete/edit, for about 2s, then lift your finger. An edit icon and a delete icon will appear on the right of the bookmark. Please select "Delete"/"Edit" icons to remove/edit your bookmarks.

EZCast app cannot find my Chromecast
Please make sure your Chromecast and your smart device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Then launch EZCast app to discover the Chromecast.

Does EZCast support external subtitles over DLNA?
No, DLNA doesn't support subtitle streaming at the moment.

How to search for videos in EZChannel?
1. Click on the top right magnifying glass button. 2. Input the keywords you want to search for. 3. Our EZChannel platform will search videos across multiple popular video sites including YouTube, Dailymotion, Vimeo, Youku, facebook, and etc. Alternatively, you can use the "Browse" function at the bottom of the menu to browse through popular videos of the day from different platforms.

When playing YouTube videos with AirPlay, the "Connected to AirPlay" message does not disappear?
This problem is caused by the latest YouTube app update. Execute the following steps to solve this issue: 1. Connect your smart device to EZCast. 2. Execute EZCast app, and click the hamburger icon on the top-left corner > Settings. 3. Find the EZAir function and change it from "Mirror only" to "Mirror + Streaming". 4. Can iOS mirroring appear full screen on TV?
iPad and iPhones have different aspect ratios compared to most TVs. EZCast app fits the projected screen inside the display area while maintaining the original aspect ratio.

Yes, adjust the volume levels using the volume buttons on your phone.

I cannot find media files on my device with "Video" and "Music" functions in EZCast app?
iOS doesn’t allow EZCast app to access contents of other apps. This is an universal rule for iOS. EZCast/Video transfers and lists the camera videos for streaming. EZCast/Music transfers and list iTune music for streaming. For the multimedia files in the other apps, please refer iTune Sync File Transfer demo video.

Device not found on iOS EZCast app.
Please go to your mobile settings>Cellular Data>Enable EZCast app to use Mobile data then retry. As a reminder, while connecting to the Wi-Fi, mirroring won't use your mobile data.

Failure to connect to EZCast SSID with the correct password
Please forget the SSID network in your smart phone’s Wi-Fi setting and reconnect to the dongle’s SSID again.

How can I play the audio output from my PC and video on TV?
Due to the video decoding is on the dongle, it's not possible to separate the audio and video when mirroring.

Why are the subtitles displayed incorrectly?
You may be using the wrong encoding for subtitles. Please switch the language setting of the dongle to be the same as your PC, or use Unicode subtitles.

It crashes/freezes when using the app

Why does the EZCast app not install on Windows 7 starter version?
Windows 7 starter version does not contain a VGA driver, hence incompatible with EZCast app.

How to connect to a Windows PC
Please connect your PC to EZCast's Wi-Fi SSID network. Launch EZCast app and click the "SEARCH DONGLE" icon in the top right corner to discover your EZCast dongle. EZCast SSID will show above the "search dongle" once the connection is successful.

Why can I not install EZCast app?
EZCast app supports Mac 10.10+ only, please check your Mac version for compatibility.

How do I use Extend function in EZCast app with MacOS 10.15 and above?
The latest update of macOS 10.15 is incompatible with the screen Extend function within EZCast app. Workaround: use AirPlay to screen mirror your Mac screen to EZCast device, then select "Use as Separate Screen" to make the EZCast device an extended screen, as shown below.
